Château Les Carmes HAut-Brion
Discover Bordeaux’s long legacy of premium winemaking at the hotel’s sister property, Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion. The historic Bordeaux chateau was transformed into a new, modern winery in 2016 designed by Philippe Starck and Luc Arsène-Henry.
The exterior design of the winery resembles a wall of metal resting on the bed of the River Peugue, emerging in a dreamlike fashion from the middle of the estate. Mimicking the shape of a ship’s bow, the winery serves as a reminder of Bordeaux’s seafaring history: a place where the sea has made wine’s fortune throughout the world.
